Kitchen design & layout in Pakenham & Cardinia.
3D design, work–triangle and storage optimisation, lighting planning — all before a tool is lifted. Design is the stage that makes or breaks the finished kitchen, so we get it right on paper while changes are still free.
What good kitchen design solves.
The work triangle.
The triangle between your sink, cooktop and fridge is the most–walked path in the house. The original builder kitchens in Cardinia Lakes and Lakeside often get this wrong — fridge marooned in a far corner, sink and cooktop on the same crowded run. We design a tight, unobstructed triangle, and on a larger Heritage Springs kitchen we split prep and clean–up into separate zones so two cooks never collide.
Opening up the estate kitchen.
The most transformative change we make on the corridor is opening a closed–off early–2000s kitchen to the family living area. We assess whether the dividing wall is load–bearing; if it is, we arrange an engineer’s computation and a Cardinia Shire building permit so it comes out safely. The result turns a cramped galley into an open–plan heart of the home.
Storage that actually fits your life.
- Deep pot drawers instead of base cupboards you have to crawl into.
- A solved corner — carousel or magic corner, not a black hole.
- A butler’s pantry where the room allows, to hide the small–appliance clutter.
- Cabinets to the ceiling for seasonal and bulk storage.
- Bin, recycling and drawer organisers designed in, not bolted on.
Lighting planned in three layers.
We plan ambient (the room), task (under–cabinet and over the bench) and feature (pendants over an island) lighting at design stage, on separate switches, so the electrical roughs in once and correctly. Pakenham’s south–facing kitchens in particular need good task lighting because natural light is limited in winter.
From concept to construction drawings.
You get a 3D concept to see the kitchen before it exists, revised until you are happy, then detailed construction drawings the trades build from. Because we design and build, the drawings are realistic — nothing is specified that cannot actually be made or fitted in your room.
