Three things every Pakenham kitchen renovation has to get right.
The ageing estate kitchen.
Pakenham’s first big estate wave - Cardinia Lakes, Lakeside and Heritage Springs, built in the early 2000s - is now 15 to 20+ years old. The original builder kitchens (laminate doors, melamine carcasses, 33mm laminate tops, builder’s-grade appliances) are reaching the end of their life all at once. We renovate these every week and know exactly where the corners were cut: undersized cabinets, no soft-close, a wasted corner, and an island that was never there.
The 2024 engineered-stone silica ban.
From 1 July 2024 it is illegal to manufacture, supply or install old high-silica engineered stone in Australia. Every benchtop we now fit is a compliant low-silica or silica-free engineered product, natural stone, porcelain or laminate. If a quote still lists the old quartz product, walk away - that installer is putting their stonemasons and your compliance at risk.
